I’m in Current/Elliott denim jacket, Forever 21 tee, Current/Elliot jeans, Be & D belt, Christian Louboutin Mary Janes, Chanel surf tote. Electric Blogarella is in an Isa Boutique dress which got rave reviews!
Today was a “first” of sorts. How so? It was the The Wordy Girl’s inaugural stab at live Tweeting from a Blogger’s Corner at Miami’s first-ever IT Girl Expo which started today at Soho Studios and carries on tomorrow. Think tons of shopping vendors selling those I’ve-got-to-have-it goodies like metallic passport holders, fashion tape, lip plumpers, eyelash extensions, colorful hair ties, rubber rain booties, breezy tunics and MORE! And by more, I mean semi-nude men swinging from the ceilings. I’m so not kidding. Check out the above photo of Electric Blogarella and I texting like freaks in an oh-so-chic lounge replete with hydrangeas, pink carpet and modern furnishings. Sweet digs!
Armed with my “IT Girl Blogger Badge” (which gave me super powers if you REALLY want to know) my favorite kiosk was FashionistaFixes.com where I scored Tili leopard-print ziplock bags (because plain ol’ ziplock bags are boring and fug) and MyLastLook.com wardrobe tags. Both of these goodies were just too genius to leave behind. No lie.
It was also great to meet and chichat with fellow bloggers Chic Streets and Eats, Miss Mean Shoe, Fashion Poet and Miami Beats and Sazon. As Velveeta-ish and ridic as this may sound, I felt a genuine sense of camaraderie and love amongst Miami’s bloggers and have a great feeling of things to come for us.
Dude, where’s my bra? Check at Victoria’s Secret angels Erin Heatherton, Adriana Lima and Candice Swanepoel at The Mondrian South Beach.
Why, hello Gorgeous.
Um, I feel kinda short here. Mind you, I’m 5’9”.
Check out Adriana’s go-on-for-days gams. Jealous!
If you ever want to feel like a hobbit/troll/Quasimodo/Gollum, just snap a picture next to not-of-this-world supermodel Adriana Lima. Lookie here, I did! I mean, really. She is so gorgeous and sweet it’s actually PAINFUL.
Most people don’t know you call Miami home, but what do you love most about living here? Everything! This is the sexiest city! I can’t imagine kicking off this tour in any other place.
Share with us the best beauty tip EVER: Drink lots of water because it’s very good for your skin.
When it comes to prepping for the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show, what do you do to look so amazing? I work out on a constant basis — I love boxing! I also eat healthy food. Plus, I run back and forth with my daughter who keeps me in the best shape.
What is your favorite shopping haunt in Miami? Victoria’s Secret!
Good one, Adriana. What is your go-to restaurant in the Magic City? I’m guilty of eating at Makoto on a regular basis.
Who’s very sexy? This chick — when not standing next to a supermodel, that is.

Aside from Sasha Baron Cohen’s pouring-of-Kim-Jong’s-cremated-ashes on Ryan Seacrest and J. Lo’s nip slip, last night’s Oscar’s were akin to taking Ambien — a totes snoozefest. I’m sorry, Billy Crystal, but it’s time to retire and give the hosting gig to someone more intrepid and snarky — say, Chris Rock or Howard Stern? Heck, I’d take Charlie Sheen or Chelsea Handler at this point. Anyhoo, here I am in all my Oscar gown glory because A) I’ve never worn this dress before and B) I’ve owned it for six years. Which leads me to the next observation: Why do I buy such stunners and NEVER WEAR THEM?! Someone call the producers of Hoarders, mmkay?

This here is my girl crush/inner IT girl Sienna Miller. That effortless style, just-right blonde hair, freckled skin — isn’t she just perfection (minus the notion she went back to that philanderer Jude Law)?
Well, Miami gals can channel their inner IT girl on Feb. 29 and March 1 at the It Girl Shopping Expo Miami! Yours truly will be covering the event and I would love to extend a DISCOUNTED ticket to you, loyal readers.
Yep, score $5 off your ticket by entering the code Wordygirl when buying tix here.
Expect IT products, services, bites, beats, beauty booty, sips and more at SOHO Studios, 2136 NW 1st Avenue, Miami on Feb. 29 and March 1 from 5:30 to 11 p.m.
See you there in all my Sienna Miller glory, natch.
Here I am looking South Beach sporty in head-to-toe Alexis. I’m a totes fan of Miami-based designer Alexis Barbara because she consummately “gets” a Miami girl’s aesthetic which is airy, ethereal, easy, breezy, chic and colorful. As a fashion writer, I often hear through the grapevine (from those dwelling in other major cities, natch) that Miami style is erroneously defined as “cheesy,” “tacky” and “tasteless,” but this cannot be further from the truth. Alexis’ designs are proof that Miami gals have a chic fashion sensibility with a heavy dose of vibrant hues and practicality. And while we can’t fully enjoy Winter collections, I’ll take my silky pants worn in the dead of February any day of the week over itchy wool turtlenecks. Zing!
