The Best Facial In Miami Requires a Blade. And a Romanian.

{All THAT was taken off my mug. Read on…}

Yesterday, I experienced the BEST FACIAL OF MY LIFE and it required a surgical blade. No, that’s not a typo. Where? At Andrea Trowers Dermatology. By whom? Aesthetician/Mad Scientist/Romanian Goddess Nena Valyi.

The latest in facials is called derma planing where a surgical blade is held to the skin at a 45-degree angle and stroked along the skin, just like shaving. Nena was kind enough to let me photograph all the “peach fuzz” (um, that looks like a full-on BEARD) and dead skin cells she shaved off in the pic above. HOW AWESOME IS THAT? Or gross. Depends on which way you look at it. But I think it’s pretty brilliant. And my friend who receives this facial on the reg reports the hair does not grow back any thicker or darker — just the same.

Anyhoo, book the Micro Peel Facial which includes derma planing, microdermabrasion, lactic peel, deep extractions, dry ice application and moisturizer. The end result? Silky smooth skin as soft as a baby’s bum. I’m addicted. You will be too.

    This is kind of cool. Sounds like a pretty intense facial!

    I’ve been going to Dr. Trowers for years and often get facials. When Nena told me about this new process, I’ll admit that the word “planing” freaked me out a bit but I was willing to trust the expertise of her and Dr. Trowers, who are both beautiful billboards of their work. It was, hands down, the best facial I have ever had and was even less aggressive than traditional methods. Love that they’re so progressive; my only worry is that everyone will know my great skin secrets now that the word is out!

    Omg….I’m intrigued and kind of scared….
    If I can muster up some courage I may try when I’m back from the land of yodels.
