How To Rock A Turban in 5 Ways

I was recently asked to shoot a Refinery29 story on how to rock a turban — a trend I find extremely adorable yet hard to pull off with panache. So I enlisted the help of turband creator and designer David Jon Acosta who taught me how to werk a turban in not one but FIVE ways. All turbands can be found on David’s websites which are Our Prince of Peace and Gold Saturn. Also, big ups to Rachel Loren for my fab hair and makeup. Without further ado, here’s how to do the turban twist…{Wet ‘n Wild}

“Put your hair down, and place the turband under your hair. This look is perfect for wet hair and this particular patriotic turband is waterproof!” David says.

{Side Pony}

“After giving your hair a ponytail, fishtail or classic braid, place the turband over your head for a finishing touch,” David says.

{Take Cover}

“Come winter, opt for a velvet turband and place it over your ears. It’s the perfect earmuff substitute!” David adds.
{Double Duty}

“Place two turbands on top of one another, at different angles, to create a layered effect,” David says.
{Classic}

“The most obvious way to rock a turband is over your loose, wavy locks,” David says.
